Steven A. Schwartz

Steve Schwartz is the Executive Director of AO North America, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting medical practitioners of musculoskeletal care for orthopaedic, craniomaxillofacial, spine, and veterinary patients through state-of-the-art education and research.  Prior to AO North America, Mr. Schwartz was Senior Vice President for Synthes, Inc, a highly respected medical device company, where he was employed from 1980-2012.  He is also President of GDS Consulting Services, providing expertise in the areas of medical education and medical philanthropy.

Mr. Schwartz currently sits on the Boards of several non-profit organizations dedicated to serving the medical needs of the less fortunate around the world.  These include: The Wyss Medical Foundation, Health Volunteers Overseas, and SIGN Fracture Care International.  Mr. Schwartz also works with numerous other professional societies and organizations to help support providers of patient care throughout the world. Mr. Schwartz was born and raised in Los Angeles, and is a graduate of UCLA.  He currently resides in suburban Philadelphia, where he has lived for the past 35 years.
