Hatem Abdallah
Global Medicine Resident

 Medical School: UPenn

Hatem’s desire to serve those in need was shaped by his mother’s work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and his childhood experiences in conflict settings.  After graduating from NYU, he went to attend Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  While in medical school, he served as the medical coordinator for a free clinic in West Philadelphia.  He has also participated in numerous research projects focused on a wide array of topics including  COVID-19 infections, rates of gun violence during the pandemic, end-of-life conversation in critically ill trauma patients, and the lung microbiome.  Moving forward, he hopes to build a career where research and service to underserved communities occurs simultaneously and synergistically.
